When I was a young bachelor around twenty-seven
or twenty-eight years old, I had always wanted to visit the Deaf Institute in
Glasgow because there were so many young deaf people in Glasgow, not like in Edinburgh.
So I made the decision to purchase a cheap day return
from the Rail Ticket Office in Waverley Station and took a train on Saturday evening
at 5.00pm and it arrived at Queen Street Station at 6.30pm. When I got off the
train, I walked towards the big city of Glasgow.
I sat down in George Square near the station for a while
because the Deaf Club was not open until 7.30pm. I went to a small cafe to have
sandwiches and tea and looked at my watch - it was seven o'clock. I left the cafe
and walked up the steep pavement to reach the Deaf Club.
