Deaf awareness day in a supermarket. Deaf people were teaching hearing people to sign.
This is part of the campaign to have British Sign Language (BSL), recognised as a true language of this country.

     

In this photograph the deaf person is teaching fingerspelling.

It is hoped that events like these will encourage people to learn sign language and to join in our campaign for equal rights.
