My First Grandchild

It was a girl, weighing 8 lb 15 ozs. Her name is Maisie. We were very thrilled to hear about it by e-mail. We went to see our daughter and her baby in Windsor on 11th May and stayed in a hotel for two nights.
We went to her flat, pressed the bell and my son-in-law opened the door. He looked pleased to see us and invited us in. We hugged each other and talked lots.
Caroline said,"Oh, come and see the baby". She opened the door then we saw the baby. I said, "Ooooh, she is beautiful". Maisie fell aslept in the cot then we left the room. A few hours later Caroline put the baby into my arms, was very thrilled to hold the baby.
We saw her face and it looks like her father's face. Her eyes were so blue. She also had pale pink on her cheeks,a small rosebud mouth and dark hair. My husband Harold said that, her cheeks were like her mother's likeness.
Chris brought his parents to see the baby on Saturday. It was good to see them. I think that it was the first time that they had seen the baby too.
Later on we went out to shop in town in Windsor without Caroline,Chris and Maisie because she was not fit to go out and Chris was looking after them.
We enjoyed shopping in Windsor and we had an evening meal in an Italian restaurant. We ate spaghetti with bolognese sauce. We came back home to Edinburgh, on Sunday morning. It took us 8 hours and we were tired. I hope that we can see Maisie again soon.
